Hello:

I been using the PDQ deploy pro beta and the free version.
let me tell you that you are using an awesome job.
If I can think about a feature that I would love to see is Wake on Lan, that together with the schedule deploy would be a Winner.

Thank you, that is a great idea for a new feature. It's been added to the upcoming feature list.

No problem, the number of requests we get helps us to determine the priority of different features.

We are planning on implementing this in version 1.5 which is currently in development. No solid dates yet, but it will go into beta probably in November.

I have just started using the Deployment and Inventory and I agree that a wake on lan would be a big plus for the deployment. May I also add a shutdown command aswell. One of our goals her is to save energy so turning off computers after software has been installed would be a big help.

Kris, Yes, there is a shutdown/reboot tool in PDQ Inventory, it's in the same menu as the Wake tool.  Please let us know if you have any questions in using it.

I'm sorry I wasn't very clear in my posting.  It would be helpfull if the shutdown was in PDQ deployment.  If you are going to do wakeon lan the shutdown would be the next logical thing to have.

thanks.

Of course, this would be the PDQ Deploy forum after all.  You can achieve a shutdown by executing a batch script or a command action (in PDQ Deploy Pro) or a batch script (in PDQ Deploy).  Example:

shutdown /s /t 30 /c "This computer is being shutdown for the day"

Hey great idea.   (I'm still finding my way around your software)  I'm going to set up some test to see how things works

thanks

The latest (and last) beta for version 1.5 includes Wake-on-LAN (under Preferences -> Deployment -> Offline Policy).
