PDQ Deploy - Batteling error "Access Denied - Failed to connect to ADMIN$ share"

Hey,

I'm currently trying to figure out how to fix the Admin$ share issue - Access to the path '\\MACHINENAME\ADMIN$' is denied.

The environment is this: Windows XP PC, the computer is connected to our domain, we have a group setup which is part of the Administrators group on the machine, I have even gone further and added it directly to the C:

So far I have disjoined and rejoined the machine to and from the domain, firewall on the machine is set to off with group policy, Server Services are enabled, Simple file shearing is disabled, RPC Service is running normally.

I have tried the Remote admin repair utility and it's not coming back with any errors...

Do you guys have any other suggestions I could try?

Thank you,
Adi

Do you have any problems connecting to \\MACHINENAME\ADMIN$ through Windows Explorer?

Can you submit a report to support through the Diagnose window?  This will tell us exactly what operation is having its access denied, it may be specific to that operation.

You're gona laugh, problem fixed.

I let the PC sit for about 1 hour while I was taking care of some other things, came back to it and redeployed the Java package only this time it actually worked.  This may be a deal where I didn't allow enough time for group policy to take affect after I rejoined the machine back on to the domain.

Thank you,

Adi

If I had a dime for every time that happened to me I could buy a nice lunch!
