Speed up Admin Arsenal

Some of our customers have asked us why Admin Arsenal seems to take a lot of system resources after they start it up in the morning. One of the most common reasons (and one which is easily solved) is that the Admin Arsenal Background Service has not been configured. Remember that, by default, Admin Arsenal will scan all online computers' hardware and software inventory every 24 hours. Also, by default, every 600 seconds a new Heartbeat process will start which, quite simply, tests the online status of all computers. If you are NOT running the background service then these features only run when the Admin Arsenal console is opened.

If you haven't used Admin Arsenal for two days and then open it so that you can deploy new software to your computers you are going to find that the inventory and hardware updates along with Active Directory synchronization and Admin Arsenal Monitor intervals will all kick off. When your environment has hundreds or even thousands of systems the wait can be annoying, to say the least.

Make sure you are running the Admin Arsenal Background service. You can configure this feature via the Preferences menu. Using this feature you can rest assured that when you open the Admin Arsenal console the inventory, heartbeat, AD sync and monitoring will already be up-to-date.
